Sixth Annual Golf Outing And Fundraiser, February 2th, 2017
These are the children, Michael, Gianna and Angelina that will receive $500 for school supplies. Their mother was an organ and tissue donor and passed at the age of 30. I know the gift will be put to good use.
This is a letter that was sent to us by a very brave individual. Please take the time to read it and support Organ Donor Awareness dat at Dolphins Stadium November 25th, 2102.
My name is Josh and I am a three time heart transplant recipient. When I was 10 days old, I turned blue from toe to head. Yes, I know, the saying is from head to toe, but I tend to make everything difficult. So my body decided to turn blue from toe to head. By March of 1993, I had been diagnosed with a few different heart problems and had undergone two open heart surgeries and three pacemaker implants. On March 9th, 1993, I underwent my first of three heart transplants at the age of three. On December 7th, 1994, at the age of five, I underwent my second heart transplant. All was well besides some minor bumps in the road until the age of eleven, when on April 8th, 2001, I received my third heart transplant.
As you can see I am a very lucky kid. Most people dream of a second chance, well I’ve been given a second, third, and fourth chance. Now it’s my turn to give back. Which is why I am hosting Organ and Tissue donor awareness day here at Sun Life Stadium. On Sunday, November 25th at 1 o’clock, the Miami Dolphins will be taking on the Seattle Seahawks and we will be honoring organ and tissue, donors and recipients during the game. We will also be focusing on the importance of becoming a donor and saving lives.
I am reaching out to you in hopes that you and group of your family, friends, and coworkers can come out and share this special day with so many giving and thankful people. Tickets start at just $35. Click here and type in the promo code “Donate”. Come celebrate the lives of others and enjoy the company of 70,000 plus Dolphin fans as we beat the Seahawks.
The game is the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and what can be more thankful then the gift of life?
When Neal Bira suffered a massive heart attack in May, an organ donor came through, narrowly saving his life.
Bira’s story was so amazing that when he survived and stayed alive while waiting for a donor heart, his NYU doctors made a video about it…
